Deodorant
This collection covers deodorants and antiperspirants for daily use, including natural deodorants free from aluminium and synthetic fragrance, conventional antiperspirants, and sensitive skin formulas. Natural deodorants work by neutralising odour-causing bacteria rather than blocking sweat glands, making them a popular choice for those avoiding aluminium compounds. We stock roll-ons, sticks, creams and sprays across conventional and natural formulations for men, women and sensitive skin.

Deodorants and antiperspirants work differently. Deodorants address body odour by neutralising or masking the smell produced when bacteria on the skin break down sweat. Antiperspirants reduce sweating itself by using aluminium compounds to temporarily block sweat ducts. Natural deodorants typically use ingredients such as baking soda, magnesium, zinc or plant-based antimicrobials to control odour without affecting sweat production. They do not stop sweating, which is a normal and healthy bodily function.
Transitioning to Natural Deodorant
Many people experience a transition period of one to four weeks when switching from antiperspirant to natural deodorant. During this time, the body adjusts to sweating more freely and the skin microbiome rebalances. Odour may temporarily increase before improving. Applying natural deodorant to clean, dry skin and reapplying as needed during the transition period helps manage this phase. Magnesium-based natural deodorants tend to be gentler on sensitive skin than baking soda formulas.
Common Questions
Is aluminium in antiperspirant safe?Regulatory bodies including the EU Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety and the US FDA have reviewed the evidence and concluded that aluminium in antiperspirants is safe for regular use. Concerns about links to breast cancer and Alzheimer's disease have been investigated and are not supported by current scientific evidence. However, some people prefer to avoid aluminium for personal reasons, and effective natural alternatives are available.
Why does natural deodorant cause irritation for some people?Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a common cause of irritation in natural deodorants. It is alkaline and can disrupt the skin's natural pH, causing redness, itching or a rash, particularly in people with sensitive skin or those who shave their underarms. Magnesium hydroxide-based natural deodorants are a gentler alternative and are less likely to cause irritation.
